Piki and Butter arrived just in time for Veteran's Day 2026. Creative Director Julie found them in the tallgrass.
The cold was creeping in and she could hear their plaintiff cries carried on the wind at 2:30 am early one morning.
Sergeant Boston was the first name we had for Piki. Butter came to us instantly. Sergeant Boston was timid.
The best we can figure is that their mother separated them from the litter. It was likely because Boston was the biggest, while Butter was the runt.
Mama Kitty must have known that the man in the house was a gentle soul who would not let her babies suffer. On Thanksgiving Day she was seen in the front drive, corraling or showcasing her other 4 calico kittens for us to see.
"Here we are", " she seemed to be telling us that her litter was in tact, but the two orphans were ours to love and care for. What a precious gift. Thank you Momma Kitty.
